The 2019 Rally at Masterton November 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

by John Smith and the Rally team

With the Rally fast approaching and a number of ‘Autotrails’ already making their way to Masterton’s, Solway Showgrounds, we are counting down the days!

With the majority of the rally registrations happening in the first couple of days, the allocated 120 places filled up very quickly. What a fantastic result!
Unfortunately, for some of you but great for us the Saturday dinner reached its maximum bookings, some of you are now on a waiting list.
We originally booked two tour buses for Saturday afternoon’s insight into the Wairarapa trip.  These also filled up quickly and a third tour bus was organised. We still have a few places remaining.

The rally organising team decided that with the keen interest and not to disappoint anybody the registration maximum could be increased by an additional five ‘Autotrails’ taking the maximum to 125.  Unfortunately, we cannot increase Saturday’s dinner numbers but late registrations can still opt for a bus tour. Late registrations will also be able to attend the Saturday night entertainment once the meal has ended.  ‘Legal Tender’, a duo known for playing a genre of eclectic mix of rural/folk covers and originals is our main entertainment for the evening. For those that enjoy dancing, the duo accompanied by some of our own Autotrail Muso’s will get your feet moving.

For the keen rugby followers, as it is the Final of the Rugby World Cup, the rugby will be screened live on the big screens.

There is a full rally programme, starting on Friday at 10am with the Bike trek. Then at 3pm, there will be an informal gathering for all who wish to sit back, relax and enjoy some easy listening music put together by our own Autotrail Muso’s.

A reminder there is no restriction on when you can arrive or leave the Solway Showgrounds so feel free to arrive earlier and leave when it is time to move on. The parking fee for any extra nights is $5 per person per night.  BEWARE that early arrivals may be roped into helping setup the rally.

Water will be available on arrival for anyone needing to top up. A reminder that there is no dump station at the Showgrounds, so you will have to visit the nearby dump station in Windsor Street. There are showers and laundry facilities available at the Showgrounds.

We have been very fortunate to have many great sponsors come on board and donate a wide range of excellent items for our Rally.  Auckland Motorhomes are again our main sponsor and we thank them for helping make the event a reality.  To Dan & the team, thank you.

If you have not already registered and would like to come to the rally, get on to the club web site  and grab one of the extra registration slots.
