Rally Update and Other News
Just 6 weeks to go to our Northland Auto-trail rally being held in Waipu at the end of October (the weekend AFTER Labour Weekend).
Registrations to attend have exceeded all expectations with over 140 members (70 vans) indicating they will be attending. What a wonderful response for what will no doubt be a very enjoyable and informative rally.
Fortunately our hard-working rally committee have chosen a venue that can easily accommodate this number and more. However they have to cut off the numbers for the Saturday bus tour and evening dinner to an absolute max of 150. So PLEASE, if you have registered with Denis Bradley to attend and something crops up that prevents your attendance, let Denis know ASAP.
Our caterers have asked for final numbers for the dinner 12 days beforehand and Denis wants confirmed numbers by Saturday 14th October. If anyone pulls out after that they will be asked to pay for that dinner.
On the technical side, we have some very interesting speakers at the rally. As mentioned before, our number-one quests will be Auto-trail's UK Managing Director and Sales & Marketing Director, Mr Dave Thomas and Mr Scott Stephens; also we will have a senior person from Fiat NZ and two from Andrew Simms Ltd (Fiat dealer and service agent in Botany Bay, Auckland) talking about warranty and servicing, particularly as it applies to imported motorhomes, whether 'grey imports' or imports purchased through official NZ Auto-trail dealers.
The rally programme can be viewed in a Club News posting on our website dated 28 August.
If you want some good ideas for touring around Northland, Chris Gaelic has put together some great ideas in RV Explorer - see Club News dated 31 August.
