Northland rally and other news

Denis Bradley and his organising committee have organised a great venue, a very interesting and entertaining programme and lots of sponsored prizes to be won - some big ones for 'lucky van' draws.  So mark off the last weekend in October on your calendars and a few days either side to enjoy some motorhoming aroung Northland. As you can see from the programme below, this year's rally is not one to be missed.   


DATE: Friday 27th to Sunday 29th October 2017  
VENUE:  Caledonian Park, Waipu, Northland.    Entry off St Marys Road.  
RALLY FEE : $50 per van ($30 singles) (includes parking Friday and Saturday nights, Saturday morning bus trip and raffle draws - prizes worth over $2000)  
Friday 27th: 

Registration from noon.



Coronation Hall opens. Mix and mingle.

  7.30pm Wearable Arts parade and talk from one of the artists.
Saturday 28th: 9.30am Buses leave for a tour of Northport, the working wharf area for Northland,  a visit to the NZ Oil Refinery Visitor Centre (including a video presentation), and drive past Marsden Cove Marina , One Tree Point and Ruakaka. Return about noon.
  1.30pm Hints and Ideas session in Coronation Hall.
  3.00pm Afternoon Tea.
  3.30pm Presentation by Mr Dave Thomas Managing Director and Mr Scott Stephens, Sales and Marketing Director of Auto-trail UK.
  5.30pm Waipu RSA  for pre-dinner drinks (300 metre walk).
  7.30pm Dinner at RSA $30 each (additional to your registration fee).
Sunday 29th  9.30am Morning tea,

Raffle draws, future rally venue, general discussion, web site etc.

Presentation by Andrew Simms (Fiat dealer) to discuss what they plan for servicing and warranty. Global warranty vs importing privately. ( one of our major sponsors).

Presentation by FnF on their Fuel Card system (one of our major sponsors) 


Please note: Raffle draws are from your registration number on your name badge.  There will be no actual raffle ticket sales.                                      


Motorhome parking is available in the grounds, before and after the rally at $10.00 night.


Dogs on leads at all times.


Please email  Denis Bradley if you intend to come to the rally. Please give the first and last names of everyone that's coming plus location (city, town, or region) - first and last name and where you are from will be printed on individual name tags.





Membership growth - new member registrations are sometimes coming in daily, often 3-4 each week. Total membership is now 400 (including associate members) and full membership now over 300. Our membership numbers are now recorded on our internet Home Page ( together with regional spread and van models owned.


Website - the 'Member Forum' continues to be well used and a great source of useful information about our motorhomes. Les Gibson has done a wonderful job of sorting topics into appropriate headings to make it easier to find the information you may be looking for. Dont forget you can receive email notification every time a new item is posted on the forum. Just click on 'subscribe from .....'.

If any of your member details have changed, eg email, address, motorhome, etc, please update them on the website.

You can always access this and earlier newsletters on our Club website.


2018 rally location - this will be discussed at the Northland rally, however if you have any suggestions, please let me know. Another matter that should be discussed - because our Club is growing so fast and soon will have 500+ members, should we be a club with an executive and constitution etc?
