Organisation for our next rally is all on track for the weekend 28 to 30 October (less than 6 weeks away!). This particular weekend has been chosen because it is also the start of Taranaki's annual Garden and Events Festival week. So there's plenty to do and see in Taranaki after the rally.
The organising committee (Taranaki members, Margaret & Jim Ward, Lyesette & Rudi Benkert, Fred & Judith Kalin, Raewyn & David Lusk, Rob & Ann Coutanche and ex-Taranaki Trevor and Audrey Coleman) has put together a very entertaining weekend for us. The venue is the Taranaki Swiss Club, Kaponga with ample flat parking for our vans (see www.swiss.org.nz/taranaki for aerial photos of their club rooms). Over 70 members have registered (nearly 40 vans): this has filled Saturday night's dinner venue - the Kaponga Hotel.
If you are still thinking about attending our rally and haven’t already done so, please phone or email Trevor or Audrey Coleman, phone 027 242 8373 or email email@example.com.
Rally fee: the organising committee has managed to keep costs down and the fee will be $10 per person payable on arrival. Saturday night’s dinner cost is $30 per person payable on the night at the hotel. There will also be a raffle to help towards rally costs.
How to get there: If coming from the North, travel down to Stratford then onto Eltham on the main highway. Turn right into Bridge Street in the centre of Eltham (you will see a hotel on the corner), carry onto Eltham Road, proceed onto Kaponga, in the centre of Kaponga turn left onto Manaia Road, then right into Lorne Street at next intersection, you will see the sign pointing to the Swiss Club – turn left into Grace Ave. If you are coming from the South turn left in Eltham at the hotel (Bridge Street) then just follow the above. If you are completely lost just ring 027-2428373.
For those with a GPS the co-ordinates are -39.4316 and 174.1475.
