General Newsletter to Members
AutoTrail Owners Club Newsletter
Hello Fellow AutoTrail Owners
I thought it time to send out another newsletter. There’s a few things to report on that may be of interest to you.
Club Membership: this has steadily increased to over 180, with one to three registrations coming in every week. There’s no doubt a number of AutoTrail Owners who aren’t members so when you park up beside another AutoTrail, please ask them if they are members and if not suggest they may like to register on our website.
Next Rally: this will be in Taranaki during the weekend 28-30 October later this year. Our Taranaki organising team have set the date and booked a very suitable venue – the Swiss Club Rooms, Kaponga . There will be a Swiss fun night on Friday, dinner Saturday night and Tech Session on Sunday morning plus other activities too.
The dates fit in with the Taranaki Garden Festival for those wanting to attend this as well.
Enquiries to Trevor and Audrey Coleman, ph 027-2428373 or email email@example.com
Club Website: www.autotrailusers.nz (note no .co) - this is a great asset to the Club and our sincere thanks go to Chris Gaelic who set it up following our rally at Oakune last year; also to Peter Robieson who manages new registrations on our website.
Please look at the Club Directory and check your details if they need updating click on ‘Update Your Details’ on the left hand side. Some of you have changed address, email and possibly phone numbers. You can change your password here too. The one you get when registering is computer generated so it may not be easy to remember.
There is now sort facility so you can sort on Name or Location by clicking on either of these two headings.
The Member Forum is proving to be very informative; please don’t hesitate to add information that may be useful to other members.
Please note, we have two levels of membership – when a person first registers he/she is given a password that allows access to the forum. Anyone can register. Only NZ owners of Autotrail motorhomes can have full membership and have access to the Club News, Member Directory etc. This is Peter Robieson’s domain – once notified of a new registration by the website computer, he may or may not give that registration full membership.
Membership List: I used to keep an Excel spreadsheet of all members however that became too time consuming with the constant flow of new members. The website does this now. Just recently I have copied the Directory on our website into Excel added a column for sir name and for location as in main cities/district so I can sort on these two plus rego number, and then keep printed copies in the motorhome for quick reference. Click on the link 3 lines below for a PDFs should you wish to print it off. (I don’t guarantee complete accuracy of information) Of course it will soon be out of date with new members continually registering whereas the directory on our website is always up to date. If you spot any errors please let me know.

Local get-together: One use of a location sort is to see who else is in your district and organise a local weekend get-together. Why not try it.
South Island Rally: Our South Island membership is growing and is now over 30. One or two South Island members may like to organise a South Island rally. At our last rally there was a suggestion put forward to hold our 2017 rally somewhere in Marlborough or Tasman a week before the big annual NZMCA rally.
Bumper Stickers: We have bumper stickers available generously designed and printed by members Leicester and Sue Fifield. (see image at top of this newsletter) These were available for free distribution at our last rally and will be available at our next rally. The size is 150x60mm. If you wish to have one now, please send a stamped addressed envelope to me at 13 The Pheasant Tail, Brentwood, Taupo 3330.
Wanted: A prospective member wants to buy a secondhand Delaware Lo-line in 18 – 24 months’ time. Their second choice would be an Imala 730 Lo-line. If you can plan this far ahead and are interested please phone Carol on 027 450 9554 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Wishing you safe, enjoyable motorhoming
PS Lyn and I look forward to seeing you at the next rally – 28-30 October in Taranaki.
